Hi! I'm Kamil. I've been interested in IT in the broad sense since my school days. I initially got into the basics of computer hardware servicing, advising people on which components and/or peripherals to buy based on the price/quality ratio. After finishing a profiled high school (Information Management), I continued my education at a technical school specializing in IT, graduating with a specialization in Web Applications.

European Computer Driving Licence

During high school, I earned the European Computer Driving Licence, which consists of seven modules:

Basic Concepts of IT and Communication — General knowledge of hardware and software.
Using Computers and Managing Files — Proficiency in the operating system (MS Windows).
Word Processing — Advanced use of text editors (MS Word).
Spreadsheets — Working with data and formulas (MS Excel).
Databases — Creating and managing relational databases (MS Access).
Presentation Graphics — Creating presentations (MS PowerPoint).
Web Browsing and Communication — Internet, e-mail, and online security.

Personal Development

For a while during my school years, I drew all my knowledge from computer magazines, and back then my go-to magazine was Komputer Świat. Over time, that wasn't enough for me, and I became interested in Komputer Świat Ekspert, from which I learned a bit more than what the education system and teaching staff of the time had to offer. It was from these magazines that I learned the basics of C++, Pascal, and PHP.

While studying at the technical school, I really enjoyed building web applications based on MySQL databases and, as much as I could, sharpened my skills working with databases built on this engine.

Still, that wasn't enough for me either, so I became interested in what's known as Frontend (HTML, CSS), and whenever I had the time I practiced building dynamic websites and pseudo content management systems (CMS). Unfortunately, due to the lack of an expert to guide me, things in this area evolved so quickly over the years that I simply couldn't keep my education up to pace with technological progress... And so we arrive at the point where...

Things Fell Apart...

As a still-young man, without a university degree but with studies begun in many fields related to programming, I was convinced that having many programming languages and a broad range of knowledge listed under skills on my CV would make finding a job in this profession trivially easy — that solid fundamentals would be enough to stumble into a field that, over years of work, would steer me toward one goal: achieving mastery in a specific area of IT or programming... Oh, how badly mistaken I was...

Many years passed... I wasted many opportunities and chances because I gave up, but now, as you're reading this, dear client or potential employer, I told myself:

Oh no! I didn't dedicate my free time and my life just to end up on minimum wage at a company that doesn't respect people and doesn't provide decent working conditions.

So I tried my hand at game development, but that's a story for another time...

Summary

I'm a capable and resourceful programmer — maybe not at the highest level, but whatever gets assigned to me, I'll get it done reasonably quickly, because even if I don't know something, I know where to look for the solution. Over the last 15 years, I've learned one key thing:

A programmer isn't just someone who writes code, but someone who searches for solutions to problems...

A Bit About My Interests

Well... I probably won't be very original here, but my range of interests outside of IT and programming is quite wide. Besides IT, I enjoy:

Writing song lyrics — And generaly making songs
Making Handicrafts — Mostly room lamps made from flowerpots and Boho-style decorations
Drawing — I've particularly taken a liking to the anime style, and my main subjects are characters from well-known anime and popular manga.
Cooking — Besides enjoying good food, I bake pretty decent bread
Cars and Travel — I like meeting new people, driving, and exploring new places, so I want to combine those into one
Retro Games — Every now and then I like to fire up an old NES game
Business and Economics — As a future/current entrepreneur, I try to stay up to date with legislative changes that affect running a business.
Natural Sciences — Chemistry: useful in everyday life; Physics: especially quantum physics, which really sparks my imagination; Astronomy: I enjoy looking up at the stars on summer nights.
Paranormal Phenomena — Ghosts, tarot, fortune-telling, clairvoyance, etc., but approached more from a scientific angle
Experiments — Sometimes I also want to try something new and unconventional, which might not entirely fit the typical circle of interests, especially for a man.

And above all — taking care of my family and my two wonderful children!
